Reiki Level 1 - Training
Welcome to the Usui Reiki Level 1 Degree, your introduction to the beautiful world of Reiki. This foundational course empowers you with the knowledge and skills to channel Reiki energy for self-healing, as well as, personal and spiritual growth.
Whether you are looking to deeply enhance your well-being or embark on a new healing journey, our Level 1 training will provide you with the essential tools and understanding to begin your Reiki practice. We honour the teaching of Usui, and it is for this reason our courses are shaped from the traditional Eastern perspective.
In addition to this, we cover the more "Western" approaches. Ensuring that your training is comparable to the Western techniques, but you also receive a much more in-depth understanding through the original connection rituals of Reju empowerments.
What is Usui Reiki Level 1?
The Usui Reiki Level 1 Degree, also known as Shoden in Japanese, is the introductory level in the Usui Reiki system of natural healing. This course focuses on self-healing and personal empowerment, teaching you how to connect with and channel universal life force energy. You will learn the history, principles, and techniques of Reiki, gaining a deep understanding of how to use this powerful energy for yourself, as well as, family and friends.

In our Shoden Usui Reiki Level 1 training course, you will explore:
- The History and Principles of Reiki: Discover the origins of Reiki, its founder Mikao Usui, and the core principles that guide this healing practice.
- Energy Awareness and Attunement: Experience the sacred process of attunement, and practice feeling and scanning the energy field. Opening your energy channels to the flow of Reiki energy.
- Hand Positions for Self-Healing: Learn how to perform Western Style of specific ‘hands on' positions for self-healing.
- Grounding and Protection Techniques: Understand how to ground yourself and protect your energy, ensuring a safe and balanced practice.
- The Reiki Precepts: Embrace the five Reiki precepts as guiding principles for your daily life, promoting harmony, balance, and mindfulness.
- Practical Applications of Reiki: Explore various ways to incorporate Reiki into your daily routine, enhancing your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
- Giving and Receiving Reiki: Receive a Reiki Treatment to understand the feelings and flow of giving Reiki to another person, as well as the opportunity to carry our a reiki treatment on the day.
Unique Aspects of Our Training
Our Usui Reiki Level 1 training course offers unique elements to provide a richer and more immersive experience:
- Mindfulness Exercises: Integrate mindfulness practices into your Reiki training to enhance your awareness, focus, and presence during your healing sessions.
- Learn the Japanese ‘Hatsu Rei Ho’ Technique: Master this traditional Japanese method to build and cultivate energy, improving both your Reiki practice and intuitive abilities.
- Japanese Self-Treatment Meditation: Engage in a profound self-treatment meditation inspired by Japanese practices, fostering deep relaxation and self-awareness.
- Working Intuitively: Develop your intuitive skills to better understand and respond to the energy needs of yourself and others, enhancing the effectiveness of your Reiki practice.
- 21 Day Self-healing: Once your training day is complete, you will be encouraged to complete 21 days of self-healing. This is to deepen your connection and practice, you will be supported with regular check-ins during the 21 days with our dedicated Reiki Master.
- Follow up session and Community: Once your Reiki Level 1 course has ended, you will be invited for a 60 minute online follow up session. This allows us to re-cap anything you would like to go over from the course, and discuss anything that may arise for you following your training. In addition, you will also be invited in to our Reiki-practitioner community WhatsApp group for on-going support, and to connect with other reiki-healers.
Course Structure
This training course is a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, to ensure a well-rounded and immersive learning journey. The day will consist of lots of hands-on practice to ensure you leave feeling confident in your abilities.
Your comprehensive training manual will be posted to you before your training day, and it is highly encouraged to read through this manual ahead of your course date.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided on the day.
The course is limited to a maximum of 6 students. This allows for a tailor made approach, and time for all questions to be answered in depth on the day.
