The Skin Benefits Of Our Sleep Well Sensorial Balm

As well as helping you fall asleep at night, our Sleep Well Sensorial Balm has many skin benefits. For example, our balm naturally has Vitamin E present. This vitamin is an antioxidant which works to protect your body against free radicals. Vitamin E also helps the skin to stay healthy as it can stimulate circulation and boost collagen production, soothe irritation and balance excess oil production.

As well as Vitamin E, the Rose Geranium oil we use also harbours its own healing properties. Rose Geranium oil can rejuvenate the complexion and is extremely effective against soothing dry skin. Rose Geranium oil helps to balance your sebum, which makes it extremely useful for skin that tends to be very oily or dry.

Chamomile can also be beneficial for all skin types. Chamomile works as an anti-inflammatory, which can soothe sensitive skin types. Also Chamomile contains antioxidants, which include polyphenols and phytochemicals. As well as Chamomile, the Candelilla Wax used in our Sleep Well Sensorial Balm creates a barrier agent for your skin, which prevents moisture loss in the long run. The Candelilla Wax hydrates and soothes your skin, whilst also being rich in Vitamin A.

The Skin Benefits Of Our New Sleep Well Facial Oil

With our Sleep Well Facial Oil, we have also included Safflower oil, which has been proven to enhance your skin’s texture, appearance and quality. This specific type of oil provides a non-greasy lightweight texture, which is suitable for all skin types. High in linoleic acid, the oil is directly extracted from a Safflower seed. We have included this delightful oil as it helps to combat blemishes, and promotes a much stronger skin barrier. The oil can also assist in maintaining a plump and hydrated appearance as well.

Another key oil that has been included in our Sleep Well Facial Oil is Evening Primrose Oil. Rose comes with many benefits, including its emollient properties, which can soften and smooth the skin. Rich in omega-6 fatty acids, linoleic acid and gamma-linolenic acid, the Evening Primrose present will help improve firmness and elasticity.

We also choose sandalwood oil as well, not just for the delightful smell, but also because it’s perfect for supporting the structure of your skin cells. Containing plenty of antioxidants, Sandalwood can reduce the dryness of your skin and replenish the moisture, improving elasticity and your overall complexion.

Sweet Almond Oil is also included as it is high in both Vitamin A & E. Sweet Almond Oil will quickly be absorbed into your skin and works as a powerful moisturiser. This highly emollient addition will help to balance the absorption of moisture and water loss in your skin, whilst also improving on both the complexion and skin tone.

Finally, we also blended Rosehip Oil as it quickly penetrates and delivers its fatty acid content to the deeper layers of the skin. Rosehip oil also contains linoleic and linolenic acids. These fatty acids help to reinforce the skin cell walls, which help lock in moisture and prevent water loss. This natural exfoliant, will help your skin to shed dead cells, thus reducing dullness, and expedites the production of new skin cells to reveal a glowing and more even-toned complexion. It contains vitamins A and C, which expedite skin cell turnover and encourage collagen production.

Essential Oils Sleep

There are many essential oils which can promote a feeling of calm, which will help you drift off into a restful night’s sleep. Once you inhale an essential oil, the molecules will attach themselves to the olfactory bulb of your nose. But not only this, but the powerful sleeping properties that come with certain essential oils come in part from how closely scent can be linked to our triggers, emotions and memories.

For example, lavender is extremely popular when it comes to needing a natural sedative, because the scent is often related to feelings of calmness, relaxation and unwinding. So, why have we chosen these specific ingredients for our Sahasarara Collection

Cedarwood Essential Oil for Sleep

Cedarwood has been known for its sedative qualities, as well as its ability to soothe and calm. Cedarwood can actually help trigger the happy hormone serotonin, which will then convert to melatonin, otherwise known as the ‘sleepy hormone’. Cedarwood will help slow your heart rate and breathing, allowing the body to fully relax and drift into a much-needed night of rest.

Lavender’s Relaxing Properties

Lavender is best known for its ability to improve the quality of sleep, as well as promoting a natural way to wind down and fully relax. Lavender can be used to prepare both your mind and body for a restful night’s sleep. Much like Cedarwood, Lavender has calming and soothing properties which help alleviate anxiety and stress - plus, it smells amazing!

How Can Patchouli Help You Fall Asleep?

The Cablin species of patchouli in particular has very strong therapeutic properties which can promote a better quality and longer-lasting sleep. It can also provide a much-needed feeling of relaxation and ease any overwhelming feelings of stress and anxiety.

Jasmine & It’s Sleep Qualites

Jasmine can specifically help with insomnia, as well as promote the lowering of your heart rate helping your body to prepare for entering a restful state. If you suffer from restless sleep, then Jasmine is the perfect addition to your bedtime routine. It can produce a calming effect that acts as a natural sedative. Also, Jasmine will calm your mind, relax your muscles and ease stress.

How Can Rose Geranium Help You Fall Asleep?

As well as offering a light and delicate smell to our blend, Rose Geranium will also balance your body and mind. By gently putting yourself into a relaxed mood, you will feel at peace with the addition of this ingredient in our Sleep Well Sensorial Balm.

The Benefits Of Chamomile On Sleep

For years, Chamomile has been used as a sleep and relaxation aid. Chamomile has been known to calm your nervous system, creating a more relaxed body and mind. In most Chamomile products, including tea, there is naturally a mild sedative effect which is perfect inducing sleep. Not only does Chamomile help you fall asleep, but it also supports you whilst you snooze. Chamomile can help to improve sleep quality, so you will wake up feeling much more rested and refreshed.

Why Bergamont Is Brilliant For Bedtime

Unlike other citrus oils, which can be energising, Bergamot is calming, and can reduce stress and anxiety. Much like the other essential oils we have used, Bergamont possesses sedative qualities which can slow the heart rate down and lower your blood pressure.

How Sandalwood Essential Oil Promotes A Restful State

Sandalwood has been known to have a sedative effect which will encourage better night’s rest and increase the amount of non-REM sleep you will experience. Not only can it promote a restful state, but it can also help to manage the symptoms of anxiety and insomnia.
