For National Gardening Week, we are diving into everything natural skincare related. If you are looking to make the jump into a cruelty-free and plant-based skincare routine - look no further. With all the tips and tricks about fully natural skincare, we have got you covered.
What is The Theme for National Gardening Week 2024?
Every year in May we celebrate National Gardening Week. This week focuses on the power of the plants and how we can protect them. Celebrating natural skin care is a great way to do this. Here at Hemsley Organics, we continue to harness the power of plants through all natural products.
For National Gardening Week this year, the theme is ‘Knowledge is Flower’. As well as being partial to an array of plants, we specifically love the benefits of rose. In all our products, you will notice that we use Bulgarian Rose Water. As well as smelling beautiful, roses have soothing properties for the skin. They also help to reduce redness, swelling and act as a natural toner. This National Gardening Week, we will definitely be celebrating the humble rose.
How To Transition Into Your Very Own Natural Skincare Routine
Natural skin care comes in many different shapes and forms, so it’s important to understand what works best with your own skin type. Whilst hunting for your new favourite natural skincare alternative, we would recommend keeping your eyes peeled for these ingredients:
- Aloe Vera: Much like rose water, aloe vera is known for its soothing abilities. Aloe vera is more than a sun after-care treatment, it can also work well as a must-have skin care item. Aloe vera works to moisturise the skin and reduce inflammation.
- Rose Water: As mentioned above, we love rose water. Rose water is a great product for those of us with redness and swelling. It is also good for all skin types.
- Coconut oil - One of the most versatile ingredients in natural skincare has to be coconut oil. Again, this ingredient is super moisturising and helps the skin stay elastic for longer.
How Do I Know What Skin Care is Right For Me?
Moving away from your chemical-based skin care can seem scary - we get it, we’ve all been there! However, moving away from unnatural products can really benefit your skin and the planet. To start, we would recommend educating yourself on what you and your skin needs. For dry skin, more moisturising products would be suitable. Whereas for an oily base, you may require a natural skin care product that is lighter.
We would always suggest reading the labels first. Next, after you have found a product that you truly love, it's all about getting your skincare routine sorted. You can start by sticking to the old skincare classic: Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise - then build from there! Incorporate products that you feel will benefit your skin type.
